BFSU Thanks Foreign Experts for Their Hard Work in 2014

Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) held a New Year reception for foreign experts recently. The guests invited included Deputy Director Lei Fengyun of Department of Culture and Education from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, BFSU Vice President Yang Guohua, foreign experts working at the university and their families, as well as leaders from Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at the State Ministry of Education, Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Government, Beijing Education Commission, and heads of BFSU schools, departments, and offices. Bao Huaying from BFSU International Affairs Office presided over the reception.

Yan Guohua made a New Year speech, thanking all the foreign experts for their hard work and outstanding contributions made during the past year as well as all the authorities for their continuous supports. He reviewed the university’s performance in 2014 and wished everybody a happy, healthy, and more promising New Year.

Lei Fengyun also thanked the foreign experts for their contributions made to both the university’s development and the progress of China’s education. He wished the participants happy New Year and read a poem he wrote for Professor Lisa Kishkin, congratulating on her 100th birthday and the 68th anniversary of her teaching in China.

Professor González, Director of Mexican Research Center at the BFSU, spoke on behalf of all the foreign experts. He elaborated the huge responsibilities that foreign experts have taken in promoting mutual understanding and communications among different cultures and civilizations. He said he was very proud of their achievements and spoke highly of the university’s efforts in pursuing global development.
