Author  :       Source  :    CSSN     2016-06-07

Journalism in China must look to ancient wisdom for guidance as it develops under a modern system of laws, said Tang Xujun, director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Studies under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), at a symposium in Beijing on the recently published Comprehensive History of Chinese Communication Law. Collectively edited by the staff of the School of Journalism and Communication at Nanjing Normal University, this six-volume work consists of separate volumes focusing on different time periods as well as a volume on Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, a volume of historical literature, and a chronological index for reference. This book is the first multi-volume work dedicated to the historical development of the law on media, press and publicity in China based on concrete historical literature and systematic analysis.
