"Analysis on the Prospect of China’s Economy (2014)" blue book released

A symposium on analysis and predictions for China’s economy in 2014 was held in Beijing on April 29. The event followed a press conference promoting the spring blue book for China’s economy titled Analysis on the Prospect of China’s Economy.
The blue book forecasts China’s economy to grow by 7.4 percent in 2014, realizing slow yet stable growth compared to the previous year. Overall predicted growth is 0.1 percent lower year-on-year.
The blue book forecasts that value added in primary, secondary and tertiary industries will increase respectively by 3.9 percent, 7.4 percent and 8.1 percent, down 0.1 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.2 percent respectively compared to last year. Value added in primary, secondary and tertiary industries is expected to spur GDP growth by 0.3 percent, 3.7 percent and 3.4 percent respectively, with respective contributions to GDP 4.2 percent, 49.7 percent and 46.1 percent.
The event was co-organized by the Economic Division of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the Institute of Quantitative and Technical Economics of the CASS and the Social Sciences Academic Press (China).
