CASS president attends Annual Meeting of New Champions

Chinese Academy of Social Sciences president Wang Weiguang attended the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) 2014 Annual Meeting of New Champions, or Summer Davos Forum, in Tianjin on September 10.

During his talk with WEF executive chairman Klaus Martin Schwab at the event, Wang expressed his gratitude for Schwab’s support and importance attached to CASS, and also his willingness to further promote exchanges and cooperation with WEF. He also proposed a session at the 2015 Winter Davos Forum themed “Relations between China’s Development and the World Economy” in which CASS scholars will share insights on economic trends in China and the relationship between China’s economic development and the world economy. Schwab highly appreciated this proposal.

Wang also met Inter-American Development Bank president Luis Alberto Moreno. Wang pointed out that the two sides had made fundamental achievements in communication and cooperation since the 2013 Summer Davos Forum. Moreno shared ideas with Wang about further deepening the two sides’ relations.
