Author :  Lǚ Sha Source : Chinese Social Sciences Today 2015-02-06
The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) held its 2015 Work Conference and Party group’s work conference on Jan, 28 and 29, with attendees outlining plans to build a fine Party culture and keep organizations clean in Beijing.
CASS president Wang Weiguang called for the opening a world-known think tank with global impact. To build a new-pattern think tank with Chinese characteristics, CASS must uphold the leadership of the Party and firmly maintain its correct orientation, said Wang. He added that the academy must prioritize central tasks around common causes, respect science and encourage brave exploration.
Wang also urged healthy development of the spirit of reform and innovation. The new-pattern think tank should fully express Chinese characteristics, Chinese style and Chinese manner as well as characteristics of CASS, he added.
The Chinese version appeared in Chinese Social Sciences Today, No. 699, January 30, 2015.
