Outlook for clean and renewable power still bright
Author :   Source : Chinese Social Sciences Today 2016-07-21
The development of clean and renewable energy will not lose momentum despite competition from cheap oil, said Huang Xiaoyong, president of Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), while introducing the Blue Book of World Energy 2016 compiled by the school. The report suggested that oil prices will remain low and a considerable rebound in the short term is unlikely, which will generally undermine the fiscal and international payment capacity of petroleum-exporting countries. The installed capacity of nuclear power slightly increased, reflecting renewed development of nuclear power on a global scale. Installed capacity of wind power generation increased by about 17 percent as the power generated by renewable energy steadily grew in 2015, according to the blue book.
