Gao Xiang, the vice-president of CASS, met with the visiting Singaporean ambassador to China Lui Tuck Yew and his delegation on Jan. 7.
Gao said that CASS and Singapore have conducted academic exchanges smoothly since the 1990s. Both sides are expected to take the ambassador's visit as an opportunity to promote communication and cooperation in the humanities and social sciences, especially regarding think tanks. The two sides may cooperate regarding such frontier issues as smart cities, national governance and AI, pushing forward exchanges between young scholars of the two countries, Gao said.
Both sides held in-depth discussions on such topics as the community of shared future for mankind, Belt and Road construction, and China-ASEAN relations.
