China's Traditional Cultural Values and Revival of Civilization

A seminar focusing on Five Thousand Years of History & Revival of Chinese Civilization was hosted by the local government of Shaanxi Province and organized by Northwestern University on April 3 in Xi'an. Scholars discussed the theme of the basic content and practical value of excellent traditional Chinese culture, as well as the innovation of Chinese culture and the revival of Chinese civilization. Culture is not only the guiding principle and spiritual pillar of a country but also a unique mark to distinguish a country from others, so preserving and developing excellent traditional Chinese culture to achieve creative transformation and innovative development are our historical responsibilities in the new era, said Zhang Qizhi, the honorary president of Northwestern University and director of the Institute of Chinese Ideology and Culture Research Institute at Northwestern University.
