Visitors admire tools used by the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), a semi-military, governmental organization in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the XPCC. An exhibition themed “Reclamation Endeavors and the Chinese Dream” was unveiled at the National Museum of China in Beijing on August 15. It consists of five parts: Strategic Decisions; Long-term Development Efforts; Unity and Stability; Peace; and Vision. More than 130 cultural relics showcasing the XPCC’s great achievements in modern times and its contributions to maintaining social stability and peace are being displayed.
The Chinese version appeared in Chinese Social Sciences Today, No. 635, August 18, 2014.
