Think tank forecasts rise in CPI, drop in PPI in 2015

The Center for Forecasting Science at the Chinese Academy of Sciences released its forecasts of China’s economic growth, price, imports and exports, housing in 2015 on January 23. The forecasting results show that China’s GDP growth rate will be around 7.2 percent in 2015, the consumer price index will risemodestly, while the producer price index will experience a small drop. China’s economic growth in 2015 will begin with a relatively low rate and speed up gradually. On the whole, it is slowing down and domestic demand is declining. It is also forecastthat grain area sown for 2015 will be 113.3 million hectares, a slight rise of 560,000 hectares from 2014.Grain production is expected to increase by 0.7 percent.
