The Economic Research Institute of Central and Eastern Europe (ERICEE) was jointly established by the China and Central and Eastern Europe Fund and the China-Europe International Business School (CEIBS) on Jan. 23 in Shanghai. By studying the economic, financial, industrial, cultural and social environments of countries in the region, the institute aims to provide intelligent support for China’s enterprises investing in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe, promote the “16 plus one” cooperation model and provide policy consultation for the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative. Li Mingjun, president of the CEIBS, said the ERICEE will conduct academic exchanges with the countries in Central and Eastern Europe as well as think tanks and business schools in related countries. The new institute will also release routine research briefs and conduct monographic studies targeting different industries.
