Affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, a large number of oranges are unmarketable in Xiao Qinren's hometown, Jintang county in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province. So Xiao, (center) a senior at Xihua University, decides to expand sales channels for the oranges and sells them via an online livestreaming platform in his orchard on April 25, 2020. [Photo/Xinhua]

Livestreaming generates new sales channels for agricultural products, boosting the economy affected by the novel coronavirus outbreak. As an emerging business with great potential, e-commerce not only helps rural residents shake off poverty, but also facilitates the revitalization of the Chinese countryside.
