Foreign political party leaders emphasized the importance of China's Global Governance Initiative (GGI) in promoting a just international order and praised China's contributions to global development and international cooperation during the 15th World Socialism Forum, which has been held in Beijing from Monday to Tuesday.

Alberto Moreno Rojas, chairman of the Communist Party of Peru (Red Fatherland), said multilateralism and democratization of international relations advocated in the GGI are essential paths to building a fair and just international order. His views on GGI were also echoed by other participants at the forum.

During an interview with CGTN, Thulas Nxesi, deputy national chairman of the South African Communist Party, spoke highly of China's propositions put forward during the just-concluded meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. "China pulled Asian countries together, promoting regional integration, which is essential," Nxesi said.

Rui Paulo da Cunha Braga, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Portuguese Communist Party, said the GGI is based on respect for other countries' sovereignty and equality of relations between different countries.

Noting how it differs from U.S. proposals, Braga said Portugal appreciates the efforts made by China. "It's a positive initiative," he said.

Hailing the GGI as "the main way to get peace," Patrik Kobele, chairman of the German Communist Party, told CGTN that he was impressed by the recommendations for formulating China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), which were adopted at the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Beijing from October 20 to 23.

"China's planning for its development in the next five years is hopeful. The plan is for the people, not for the rich. The plan is for peace, not for war," Kobele said. "The plan is for a good relationship between humanity and environment; not for destroying the environment."

Echoing Kobele's views, Nxesi told CGTN that he appreciates that China regards development as a continuous process, not as an event.

The five-year plans are connected with each other and reflect long-term planning, Nxesi said.

Gyula Thurmer, chairman of the Hungarian Worker's Party, also shared his insights on China's five-year plans in an interview with CGTN.

"The five-year plans contribute to forming new forms of international cooperation, such as the Belt and Road Initiative," said Thurmer.

Lauding win-win cooperation between China and Hungary, Thurmer said China not only brings machines and factories to Hungary, but also intellectual capacity and science.

During the interview, Thurmer also spoke highly of China's development in past years.

"China achieved great results in the past five years. For example, poverty alleviation," Thurmer said. "China will continue its socialist market economy. China will promote science, technology and AI to advance Chinese modernization to improve people's livelihood," he said. "It's a people-centered modernization. If China can develop, it will help the development and stability of the world."

Nxesi also stressed the importance of China's poverty reduction experience.

"What South Africa learned from China is how it took 800 million people out of poverty," Nxesi said, adding that self-development and self-sustainability matter much in China's poverty reduction achievements.

"When we look at China's strategy for rural development, it's not about leadership imposing. It's about the leadership teaching people the skills to enable them achieve self-development."

"I hope other countries can learn from China's experience in balancing ecological protection and economic development," Nxesi said.
