At the launch ceremony for the Institute of Statistics and Big Data at Renmin University of China on Dec. 20, scholars claimed that big data has become integrated into human life, science and technology, research, policymaking, business, and other fields. Therefore, it is urgent to foster professionals capable of handling big data and enhance scientific research in the field. They agreed that given social demands, there is a shortage of professionals specializing in analyzing big data. A system should be built to train professionals in this regard. He Xuming, a professor from Northeast Normal University, said there should not be a unified model for training talents in big data.
