Big data technologies to transform social sciences

On Feb. 15, a seminar titled “Big Data and the Development of Social Sciences” was held in Jinan, Shandong Province. “Big data analysis allows us to see the world through a new lens. Defying temporal and spatial constraints, big data technologies will help scholars to reexamine and verify classical theoretical conundrums with massive data sets,” said Wu Hequan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. “Big data technologies will make the public service system more efficient, integrate collaborative innovations, and streamline management and technical support mechanisms,” said Ning Jiajun, head of the Academic Committee of the State Information Center of China.
