Last year, Chinese media made steady progress toward reform and innovation, according to a recent report by the All-China Journalists Association. Media-related government agencies and various media organizations have collaborated to foster a sounder environment for the development of the media, resulting in profound structural changes within the industry. Under pressure from the market, media agencies are pursuing the integrated development of traditional and new media in terms of content, channels, platforms, operation and management. The association established the Press Ethics Committee and is developing a mechanism to evaluate press organizations based on the criteria of social responsibility.
