“Corruption is a cancer worldwide. To eradicate corruption is the joint mission of all countries and anti-graft agencies,” said Meng Jianzhu, China’s top law enforcement official at the opening of the ninth Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) recently held in Tianjin, China. China is willing to work more closely with other countries in fields such as information sharing, technology, law enforcement and training to fight graft, Meng said. The IAACA has played an important role in promoting the effective implementation of the UN Convention Against Corruption, he added. This association, established in 2006, is the first anti-graft nongovernmental organization initiated by China. Anti-graft professionals from more than 70 countries and regions, including China, France, Russia and South Korea, took part in the two-day conference.
