Individuals' Responsibilities to Adorn the Country and Benefit Sentient Beings

Abstract:What kind of oath should a Buddhist take and what kind of ambition should he have to undertake his responsibilities and missions? This article briefly discusses the qualifications a Mahayana follower should have: first, he should know the significance of an ambitious oath and the faults of the lack of an oath; second, how to take an oath and what kind of oath to take; the last but not the least, how to actualize them in the real life, how to edify people with one's own voluntary activities, how to adorn the country, and how to construct a harmonious society full of kindness, moralities and enlightenment through one's own actual activities.
