The proposal of the theory and practice of Chinese modernization has provided a deep foundation and broad space for the theoretical and academic innovation of the Chinese intellectual community, especially the prosperity and development of philosophy and social sciences.

Meanwhile, it also puts forward higher requirements for building an independent knowledge system of Chinese modernization. 

Chinese modernization is the theory and practice independently explored by the Communist Party of China leading the people through more than a century of extraordinary struggle, and in conformity with China’s actual development conditions.

Chinese modernization is the product of a uniquely Chinese knowledge system and independent intellectual property rights. 

Chinese modernization is the theory and practice that reflects Chinese characteristics and Chinese style. From the perspective of building the theoretical system of Chinese modernization, the urgency of building China’s independent knowledge system is prominent.

Firstly, to build an independent knowledge system of Chinese modernization, the leading role of combining basic principles of Marxism with China’s realities and fine traditional Chinese culture should be leveraged to provide theoretical support for Chinese modernization to march in the right direction.

People-centered philosophy

Secondly, to build an independent knowledge system of Chinese modernization, the people-centered philosophy should be implemented to highlight the nature and essential requirements of Chinese modernization.

Chinese modernization provides a deep foundation and broad space for theoretical innovation, especially for prosperity and the development of philosophy and social sciences. 

Problem-oriented approach

Thirdly, to build an independent knowledge system of Chinese modernization, a problem-oriented approach should be adopted, major theoretical and practical problems in the process of Chinese modernization tackled. Problems represent the voice of the times. The fundamental task of theory is to respond to problems and provide guidelines for finding solutions. Whether the independent knowledge system of Chinese modernization can be constructed depends to a large extent on whether it can focus on solving problems on the ground in China.

Global vision

Fourthly, to build an independent knowledge system of Chinese modernization, we must maintain a global vision and respond to the concerns and doubts of the international community. Chinese modernization seeks happiness for the Chinese people, rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, progress for mankind, and harmony for the world. Chinese modernization is a pioneering cause that will affect the world in the 21st century. With an open mind, we should draw inspiration from all of civilization’s outstanding achievements and work to build an even better world.

Therefore, it is the call of the times to correctly understand and handle the relationship with the outside world from the perspective of the trend of human development, the overall pattern of world changes, and the grand history of China’s development.
