The Social Sciences Academic Press (SSAP) has always attached great importance to international cooperation of publication as a way for Chinese books to go abroad. In recent years, with the strong support and promotion of the Chinese government’s “going out” strategy, and with the eager foreign demand for the works and publications in Chinese social science fields, SSAP (an affiliate of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) has been actively participating in cooperation and exchanges with its peers in international publication circles, trying to introduce the good Chinese social science works and publications to the world.
Through accumulation in many years, SSAP, which focuses on the publication of academic works, has created a book series called “Yearbooks” which has become a brand with the characteristics of “authoritativeness, frontier, and originality” in the publication circles. The books it has published offer us objective descriptions and analyses of the economy, society, politics and ecology by Chinese scholars, and they have attracted more and more attention from the academia, institutes and commercial organizations in other countries.
To meet the demand from foreign countries, SSAP cooperates with Paths International Ltd., a well-known British publisher, and both co-publish Chinese edition of the “Yearbooks” for sale in the world. The first batch of the books they published has been displayed and sold in the world’s second largest bookstore -- Blackwell Bookstore in Oxford, UK.
