Histories of China, world to be documented in new books

Scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Nankai University, Fudan University and other academic institutions are writing two history books based on China and the world to be published before 2019. The announcement was made in Tianjin on July 16.

The General History of China and The General History of World will total 6 million characters. Each will consist of eight chronological volumes documenting history from political, economic, military and cultural standpoints. Both books strive to represent modern historical trends and research modes, emphasizing major historical developments in different periods. Authors’ views will be included in the books to specify the focus of various opinions and arguments.
