Tourism industry enters phase of ‘new normal’

Green Book of China’s Tourism No. 13: China’s Tourism Development:Analysis and Forecast (2014-2015) was released on Jan. 20 in Beijing. The green book examines China’s tourism with a focus on the themes “world and China” and the “economic new normal.” It examines the impact China’s economic and social reforms have had on China’s tourism and its global status. The green book points out that China’s tourism achieved a “new normal” in 2014. At the policy level, programmatic documents were enacted, administrative procedures simplified and comprehensive reform conducted. In terms of the market, demand for tourism increased and diversified. With regard to the industry, more capital was invested into tourism and leading enterprises have begun to emerge.
