Society of Labor Economics established

“The study of labor economy in China has a short history, but the problems it deals with are mostly major theoretical and practical issues of China’s economic development. And it’s time for China to unify all the efforts in the study of labor economics,” said Cai Fang, vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), at a conference marking the establishment of the Chinese Society of Labor Economics under CASS recently held in Beijing. The society was cofounded by labor economics research institutes from CASS, the All-China Federation of Labor, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and several other universities.
