Co-sponsored by the Chinese Academy of History at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Russian Historical Association, the webinar on Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held on Sept. 1. The sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on the global economy, politics, culture and society while the reform of the international governance system is facing severe challenges. Mankind is a community with a shared future. Only by cherishing peace can we achieve sustainable development. China and Russia should work side by side, firmly uphold the outcomes of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and promote world peace and development.

Nearly 20 distinguished experts from China and Russia in the field of history participated in the online conference and discussed in depth such issues as the process and historical significance of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and China and Russia strengthening their comprehensive strategic cooperation.
