To promote the exchanges of Marxist theory among China, Italy and Switzerland, an international symposium was held on July 24 with the attendance of over 20 experts and scholars from China, Italy, and Switzerland.

Co-organized by the Academy of Marxism at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Italian 21st Century Association of Marxist Politics and Culture, and the Swiss magazine "New Politics", the event aimed to deepen the understanding of Italian and Swiss Marxist party members and scholars with Xi Jinping's "Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era", and to promote the theoretical innovation of Marxism in the 21st century.

Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party committee and vice president of the Academy of Marxism at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that the whole-process of people's democracy should be unwaveringly proceeded, and the principle of running the country by the people should be concretely visualized through the Party's governance as well as the realization of people's aspirations for a better life.

According to Marco Rizzo, general secretary of the Communist Party of Italy (Partito Comunista), under the leadership of CPC, China has created the two miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability over the past years and has undoubtedly become a stable anchor for world peace and development.

David Rossi, director of the Institute of Contemporary Philosophy and History in the Italian-speaking area of Switzerland, said that in the face of a period of uncertainty and change, China's upholding true multilateralism serves not only the common interests of the international community, but a common prosperity in the world.
