Tibet held up as model for sustainable development

“We are still facing many challenges. The 17 goals specified in UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development should be maintained as a whole and localized according to the specific conditions of each country and each area,” said David Nabarro, special adviser on the 2030 agenda, at a symposium held in the Tibet Autonomous Region on sustainable development. Tibet symbolizes the ideal balance between material and ecological advancement that China pursues as it strikes a path toward innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared development, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in his video speech. More than 100 participants from China and abroad brainstormed about how equitable, open, comprehensive and innovative approaches can support the goals put forth in the agenda.
