Central SOEs invested in 1,676 ‘B&R’ projects over three years

Forty-seven China’s central State-owned enterprises (SOEs) have invested in 1,676 projects in the three years since the “Belt and Road” initiative was proposed, said Xiao Yaqing, director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council at a press conference on May 8 in Beijing. For example, China has built more than 60 energy projects of power generation and pipeline construction in more than 20 countries along the “Belt and Road” while Chinese companies have built infrastructure, such as airports and high-speed railways. These construction projects have improved the infrastructure of many countries substantially, helping them turn resource advantages into product benefits and boost local economic growth as well as improve the lives of local people, said Xiao.
