Digital publication emerges as pole for press industry

Digital publication has emerged as the main pole of the development of press and publication industry in China, accounting for about 60 percent of the total increase of the entire industry, according to the Analysis Report on the Press and Publication Industry in China 2015 released by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television on Aug. 8. The total revenue of the digital publication in 2015 amounted to about 440 billion yuan ($66 billion), an increase of about 30 percent compared with 2014. Digital publication accounts for about 20 percent of the total revenue of the industry, an increase of about 3.4 percent than 2014, according to the report. The report also suggests a steady increase in the overseas copyright trade and publication product export, while newspapers are facing a growing number of challenges.
