The 2021 China City Creativity Index (2021 CCCI) was released at the 7th Shenzhen Management Innovation Dialogue Forum on Dec. 4. Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong top the city creativity ranking, reflecting the development potential of the cultural industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The index research report indicates that the city creativity index is steadily rising in China, based on the evaluation of 50 large and medium-sized cities. Meanwhile, China’s cultural industry is still manifesting an obvious imbalance in regional development.

The report points out that the city creativity index of the Greater Bay Area is higher than the average level of all the cities on the list. This shows that the urban consumption demand is booming in the Greater Bay Area. The future development momentum is strong here with good infrastructure, government policies, and development opportunities supporting the development of the urban cultural industry .
