Author  :       Source  :        2015-03-26

The number of China’s “next generation” of farmers has reached one million and they are representatives of advanced productive forces in agriculture, a report released in February found. The “next generation” of farmers refers to those engaged in agricultural production, circulation of agriculture-related products and agricultural services who use the Internet. The report recognized four genes present in the next generation of farmers: the gene of the Internet, which is at the core of the new type of farmers; the gene of innovation, for the next generation of farmers are the very model of innovative people; the gene of self-organization, based on platforms for communication and resource-sharing through self-organization; and the gene of culture, based on their better education than traditional farmers.
