Author  :       Source  :        2016-04-18

Chinese and Australian scholars gathered in Shanghai to talk about topics related to the cultural and creative economy on April 2. Scholars agreed that the global cultural and creative economy is undergoing radical changes, and China’s cultural and creative industries are upgrading as they enter a new normal period. Development of the Internet and other technologies is giving rise to new industrial patterns and business models as well as the integration of various industries. More research should focus on business models and industrial integration, especially the humanistic, aesthetic and moral issues involved, scholars contended. Shanghai Jiao Tong University, one organizer of the meeting, is among the first group of research institutions to set up a department dedicated to cultural and creative industry, and it is expected to play an important role in promoting the industries throughout the country.
