Western scholars acknowledge China’s WWII contribution

Western scholars have acknowledged China’s contribution to World War II to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the war’s end, noting the Chinese front was indispensible to the Allies’ victory against Japan. Rana Mitter, a professor of modern Chinese history and politics at Oxford University, noted that if China had surrendered the landscape of Asia would have been drastically different in the decades after the war. China’s resistance to Japan had significant consequences both for China and for the world, scholars said.
